Bespoke Suit Brighton

Why do two “bespoke suits” in Brighton look nothing alike in price or fit? Because most are made-to-measure in disguise. Ours are hand-drafted from your own measurements and hand-canvassed to move with your body, not adjusted from a factory block a true bespoke suit in Brighton, from £1,495.

    How It's Made

    1

    The Consultation

Every bespoke suit in Brighton starts with a conversation, not a tape measure. Meet master tailor Igor at our Ardingly studio, or we'll travel to you across Brighton, Sussex, and London. Virtual consultations suit clients further afield who still want genuine bespoke tailoring, minus the round trip.

    2

    The Cloth

Every bespoke suit is cut from cloth chosen from the finest British mills tweed, cashmere, cotton, linen, wool, and mohair sourced from Huddersfield and West Yorkshire. Cloths are woven for Brighton's coastal climate and built to age gracefully. This is where your suit's character begins.

    3

    The Details

The part most Brighton tailors gloss over. Lapel shape, button count, pocket style, working cuffs, and contrast stitching, plus a signature lining pulled from quirky, colourful silks. Every bespoke suit should carry at least one detail that's entirely yours a secret only you know.

    4

    The Measurements

A meticulous measuring session captures your posture, your shoulder line, and the small asymmetries that make you you. From this, Igor hand-drafts a paper pattern kept on file exclusively for your garments the true foundation of a bespoke suit built for Brighton life.

    5

    The Making

Hand-stitched over 8 to 12 weeks, using your preferred construction full hand-canvassed, half-canvassed, or machine finishing. Every choice matters, and Igor will walk you through what each means for feel, fit, and lifespan, so your bespoke suit outlasts every fleeting trend across Sussex and Brighton.

    6

    The Fitting

Two to three fittings take place before the final reveal, because bespoke means the suit adjusts to you, not the other way around. Once it's right, it's yours and every time you wear your Brighton-tailored suit, you'll remember exactly why it was worth the wait.

I have had the pleasure of working with Igor on several projects: reinventing a Ted Baker plain black coat with hot pink herringbone tweed (yes it’s as fabulous as it sounds); making a duplicate of an existing summer skirt but with bolder colours and heavier weight fabric; relining a plain H&M blazer to make it a statement piece; and various alterations and upgrades of Etsy vintage purchases. And there is always a little suggestion for “detail” here and there which really makes the difference. He is very client focused, open to new ideas, and his professionalism and the quality of work is to a very high standard, as it should be. He has a client base flung far and wide (UK, Europe, EMEA) so it’s always best to get in touch in advance to arrange appointment. And the tea and cake is always good.

Igor has made a dress for my wife Wendy, and a three peice suit for myself, for our visit to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party. From our first phone call and subsequent visits to his shop, it was an amazing experience. He made my wife feel relaxed and confident that the dress would be what she wanted. My suit was a perfect fit, complete with matching tie and pocket square, the two shirts he made are a perfect fit. We both cannot thank Igor enough for a fantastic experience. Would thoroughly recommend him to anybody who wants bespoke tailor made suit or dress.

My experience with Igor was first class and I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone looking to buy a bespoke suit. I have gone into more detail on my experience below. I was looking for a 3 piece suit for my wedding day and was originally looking to buy one off the rack, but hadn’t been able to find one that I was happy with the fit. I met Igor and told him what I was looking for and he very quickly narrowed down some materials for me and my partner to choose from that were within our budget. We went with the 3 piece suit, but Igor also made us a tie and pocket square out the same material as the waistcoat and also tailored a shirt I bought so that it fit me better. This was an unexpected benefit and it’s the best a shirt has fit me. I went in to see Igor a few times afterwards to check the fit of the suit and it was always a great experience. I don’t usually enjoy buying clothes but it was a pleasure dealing with Igor and I really enjoyed it. We’d just had out first child and Igor was so nice to him and accommodating of my now wife whilst she was feeding him etc. When I tried the suit on for the final time, I was so happy with what Igor had created. He bagged everything I’d need for the day in the suit bag and having a suit that looked brilliant and was made to make me look my best made the experience of having photos and videos taken that much better, I look forward to working with Igor again.

Absolutely fabulous and highly recommended. I approached Igor for a bespoke 3 piece for my destination wedding and he did not disappoint. Consistent and reliable communication, even at weekends. He worked tirelessly to complete my suit for the deadline (with a number of alterations) and the result was immaculate finish, I could not have been more pleased. Thank you Igor!

Well what can I say other than a wonderful experience! I needed a suit for my best friends wedding and as the Best Man decided to go all out as I just didn't have a suit that had ever worked for me. I showed Igor the styles I had in mind and we picked the fabrics. We discussed things and then he let loose. Igor is not only an amazingly creative person, but an extremely personable character. The prices might be slightly high for some, and I get that, but in all honesty you can see where the money goes. This is tailor made, not like the off the peg junk. I have a 50' chest and I'm only 5ft 10 with a 14 inch drop. It you're athletically built, off the peg suits just don't work. This whole experience was amazing and at the end of it I feel I have made a life long friend as well. Just treat yourself peeps and speak to Igor. Thank you, thank you, thank you Igor, you're a star !!!!!

Great tailor. Very helpful, great organisation and helpful. Also gives good advice. Professional. Highest quality craft. Able to accommodate times to our busy working schedules. Managed to tailor an authentic 1940s suit in one week. Very happy with the job :) Would recommend 10/10 to anyone.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Explore answers to the most common questions about our bespoke tailoring services, ensuring you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.

A bespoke suit is built from a pattern hand-drafted just for you; made-to-measure adjusts an existing block pattern to your size. At Dandylion Style, master tailor Igor drafts every pattern from scratch at consultation, then hand-canvasses the suit so it moves with your body rather than holding a machine-pressed shape. Made-to-measure is faster and cheaper, but the fit and construction aren't the same.

A bespoke two-piece suit at Dandylion Style starts from £1,495. Final price depends on the cloth you choose. British wool, mohair-blend, or linen plus any extra detailing like working cuffs or a contrast lining. Brighton clients pay the same studio pricing whether they visit Ardingly or book a local visiting appointment.

Most bespoke suits take 8 to 12 weeks from your first fitting to collection. Igor hand-stitches each suit using your preferred canvas construction, and the timeline can shift slightly depending on cloth availability and how many fittings your build needs. We'll confirm a realistic completion date at your consultation.

Two to three fittings, spaced out to refine the fit before your suit is finished. The first checks the baseline shape; later fittings fine-tune shoulder, chest and trouser break. This is why bespoke fits better than off-the-peg or made-to-measure the suit is adjusted to you, not the other way around.

Yes, if you want a suit built to last years, not seasons. Hand-canvassed construction holds its shape far longer than fused, factory-made suiting, and because your pattern is kept on file at our Ardingly studio, future orders are faster and just as precise. For Brighton clients wearing a suit regularly for work, weddings, or events, it's a genuine cost-per-wear saving over repeat made-to-measure purchases.
