Ever wondered why some three-piece suits look bolted together instead of built as one outfit? It’s because the waistcoat is usually fitted separately, after the jacket. A bespoke three-piece suit in West Sussex from Dandylion Style is hand-drafted as a single pattern jacket, trousers and waistcoat cut together from your own measurements and hand-canvassed to move as one, not assembled from a block size. Book your consultation at our Ardingly studio from £2,195.

Every bespoke three-piece suit in West Sussex starts with a conversation about jacket, trousers and waistcoat together, not a tape measure on its own. Meet master tailor Igor, 17+ years of experience, at our Ardingly studio, or we'll travel to you across Sussex, Brighton and London. Virtual consultations work well for clients further afield.
Every bespoke three-piece suit is cut from cloth chosen from the finest British mills worsted wool, flannel, tweed, and mohair-blend, sourced from Huddersfield and West Yorkshire, woven for the British climate and built to age gracefully. This is also where we plan your waistcoat's contrast lining or cloth, if you want one.
The part most tailors gloss over. Lapel shape, button count, pocket style, working cuffs, and how the waistcoat's back and buttons are finished, plus our signature touch, a lining chosen from quirky, colourful silks. Every bespoke three-piece suit should carry at least one secret only you know.
A meticulous measuring session captures your posture, your shoulder line, and the small asymmetries that make you, you. From this, Igor hand-drafts a paper pattern kept on file exclusively for your garments, the true foundation of a bespoke three-piece suit built to fit jacket, trousers and waistcoat as one.
Hand-stitched over 8 to 12 weeks, using your preferred construction, full hand, machine, or half-hand finishing. Every choice matters, and Igor will walk you through what each means for feel, fit, and lifespan, so your bespoke three-piece suit outlasts every fleeting trend across West Sussex.
Two to three fittings take place before the final reveal, because bespoke means the suit adjusts to you, not the other way around. Jacket, trousers and waistcoat are checked together so nothing gapes or pulls. Once it's right, it's yours, and every time you wear your West Sussex-tailored three-piece, you'll remember why it was worth the wait.

Every two-piece suit is cut and fitted personally by Igor at the Ardingly studio, using British cloth chosen for how you'll actually wear it.

I have had the pleasure of working with Igor on several projects: reinventing a Ted Baker plain black coat with hot pink herringbone tweed (yes it’s as fabulous as it sounds); making a duplicate of an existing summer skirt but with bolder colours and heavier weight fabric; relining a plain H&M blazer to make it a statement piece; and various alterations and upgrades of Etsy vintage purchases. And there is always a little suggestion for “detail” here and there which really makes the difference. He is very client focused, open to new ideas, and his professionalism and the quality of work is to a very high standard, as it should be. He has a client base flung far and wide (UK, Europe, EMEA) so it’s always best to get in touch in advance to arrange appointment. And the tea and cake is always good.Posted on Google![]()

Igor has made a dress for my wife Wendy, and a three peice suit for myself, for our visit to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party. From our first phone call and subsequent visits to his shop, it was an amazing experience. He made my wife feel relaxed and confident that the dress would be what she wanted. My suit was a perfect fit, complete with matching tie and pocket square, the two shirts he made are a perfect fit. We both cannot thank Igor enough for a fantastic experience. Would thoroughly recommend him to anybody who wants bespoke tailor made suit or dress.Posted on Google![]()

My experience with Igor was first class and I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone looking to buy a bespoke suit. I have gone into more detail on my experience below. I was looking for a 3 piece suit for my wedding day and was originally looking to buy one off the rack, but hadn’t been able to find one that I was happy with the fit. I met Igor and told him what I was looking for and he very quickly narrowed down some materials for me and my partner to choose from that were within our budget. We went with the 3 piece suit, but Igor also made us a tie and pocket square out the same material as the waistcoat and also tailored a shirt I bought so that it fit me better. This was an unexpected benefit and it’s the best a shirt has fit me. I went in to see Igor a few times afterwards to check the fit of the suit and it was always a great experience. I don’t usually enjoy buying clothes but it was a pleasure dealing with Igor and I really enjoyed it. We’d just had out first child and Igor was so nice to him and accommodating of my now wife whilst she was feeding him etc. When I tried the suit on for the final time, I was so happy with what Igor had created. He bagged everything I’d need for the day in the suit bag and having a suit that looked brilliant and was made to make me look my best made the experience of having photos and videos taken that much better, I look forward to working with Igor again.Posted on Google![]()

Absolutely fabulous and highly recommended. I approached Igor for a bespoke 3 piece for my destination wedding and he did not disappoint. Consistent and reliable communication, even at weekends. He worked tirelessly to complete my suit for the deadline (with a number of alterations) and the result was immaculate finish, I could not have been more pleased. Thank you Igor!Posted on Google![]()

Well what can I say other than a wonderful experience! I needed a suit for my best friends wedding and as the Best Man decided to go all out as I just didn't have a suit that had ever worked for me. I showed Igor the styles I had in mind and we picked the fabrics. We discussed things and then he let loose. Igor is not only an amazingly creative person, but an extremely personable character. The prices might be slightly high for some, and I get that, but in all honesty you can see where the money goes. This is tailor made, not like the off the peg junk. I have a 50' chest and I'm only 5ft 10 with a 14 inch drop. It you're athletically built, off the peg suits just don't work. This whole experience was amazing and at the end of it I feel I have made a life long friend as well. Just treat yourself peeps and speak to Igor. Thank you, thank you, thank you Igor, you're a star !!!!!Posted on Google![]()

A three-piece suit adds a fitted waistcoat between the jacket and trousers, giving it more structure and formality than a two-piece. A bespoke three-piece suit in West Sussex from Dandylion Style is drafted as one complete pattern rather than a waistcoat bolted on afterwards, so jacket, trousers and waistcoat sit and move together. That extra layer reads as more formal, and the waistcoat can be worn on its own once the jacket comes off.
Alteration pricing depends on the garment and the specific adjustment needed. Simple changes like trouser hemming cost less than structural work such as shoulder or chest adjustment, which involves partially deconstructing the jacket. Pricing is confirmed after an in-person assessment since the same alteration can vary in complexity depending on the garment's original construction.
Yes, a well-fitted waistcoat and trousers stand on their own without the jacket. Because Dandylion's bespoke three-piece suits are hand-canvassed and cut close to the body, the waistcoat holds its shape instead of looking unfinished once the jacket's off, a practical option for warmer days or long events across Sussex.
Matching cloth is the traditional, most formal choice; a contrasting waistcoat is a smart-casual alternative. For business, weddings and formal occasions we cut the waistcoat from the same British wool, tweed or flannel as the jacket and trousers. For a more relaxed bespoke three-piece suit, clients across West Sussex often choose a contrast tweed or coloured silk back panel instead.
Yes, the bottom button is traditionally left undone on a single-breasted waistcoat. This stops the waistcoat pulling or bunching when you sit down, a detail built into the pattern at the fitting stage. Igor checks this alongside jacket and trouser fit during your bespoke three-piece suit fittings at the Ardingly studio.
